Intermediate / Advanced level: Developing Picture Books
The Intermediate course is designed especially for students who have completed Claire’s beginners course An Introduction to Creating Picture Books. This practical based course will help you develop your book dummies and written and illustrative portfolio in a friendly supportive group environment.
During the classes you will:

Undertake small projects to build or enhance your portfolio

Sharpen your writing skills

Develop your drawing and painting techniques

Receive a balance of one to one tuition and group discussions

Obtain support and guidance on marketing yourself

Meet an author or illustrator working successfully in the field and hear them talk about their work and career

Listen to a London publisher talk about their company and give feedback on your work

Listen to an agent talk about the industry and give feedback on your work
NEW FOR 2012
Intermediate students will benefit from sharing the work space with Claire's Advanced students who will largely work independently of the main group. Each will give a talk about their work plus experiences with publishers and agents. They will also join one intermeiate group feedback session to offer their advice and support.
Advanced Level
Students who have completed Claire's Intermediate level course will be able to develop work within a supportive group environment, with weekly one to one tuition and optional group feedback discussions. For more information and fees, please contact Claire.
